Hank Trueba, appointed to the Rubidoux Community Services District in 2017, is committed to the community. At the Jurupa District Lions Club, where his passion for community service is strong, Trueba was named Lion of the Year in 2015.

Trueba moved west in the early ‘80s, eventually settling in the Jurupa Valley. He attended schools in El Paso, Texas and then forged on to the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) where he studied Business Administration. At UTEP, Trueba also was active in sports and was a member of Kappa Sigma.

With a 35-year career in roofing sales, manufacturing and distribution, the Texas native retired in 2014 after 20 years with Cleasby Manufacturing.

Spending time with his wife, Patty, and their five grandkids is his favorite thing to do as a retiree. They have four grown children, Christopher, Shauna, Matt, and Brennan. The former avid weightlifter can be spotted riding around town on his Harley Davidson when he’s not maintaining his commitment to physical fitness. Trueba has also been involved in youth sports, both as a coach and a board member.

Public service is important to Trueba. In addition to being a Lions Club member, he’s also a member of the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce.  “I enjoy helping people and my community,” he explained. Making a difference, getting to know people, determining their issues and helping to resolve them are the motivations for Trueba’s community service.
